Teen In Unregistered Car Causes Two-Car Crash Injuring Elderly Woman: Montgomery PD

A 76-year-old Belle Mead resident was injured on Wednesday, Feb. 28 after her vehicle collided with a car driven by a 17-year-old, authorities said.

At 3:01 p.m., Montgomery police and EMS responded to River Road near Bridgepoint Road for a motor vehicle crash with an injury, officers said. An investigation revealed a 17-year-old Belle Mead resident was exiting a driveway when she pulled out in front of a 2019 Lexus heading northbound, police said.

The Lexus went off the roadway and came to rest along the tree line, police said. The 76-year-old woman sustained a knee injury, police said.

The 17-year-old was cited for improper emergence from a driveway, and for operating an unregistered vehicle, police said.  She is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court, police said.

Traffic was delayed for an hour during the crash investigation.
